Bert Dickerson

Bert Dickerson Jr., 90, went home to be with the Lord on January 12, 2018. He was born December 24, 1927 in Spencer, WV to the late Bert and Lonnie Dickerson. Bert retired from Duff Truck Lines after 30+ years of service. He was a longtime member of Lighthouse Christian Fellowship in Cuyahoga Falls. Bert enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, working on cars, and most importantly spending time with his grandchildren. He was a loving, compassionate man who never met a stranger.

Bert was preceded in death by 2 sisters. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Lucile; children, Joan Dickerson, Mike Dickerson, John (Beth) Dickerson, Mary (Bob) White; grandchildren, Danny (Danyaile), Diana, Anthony, Brian, Nicole (Jeremy), John, Marcus, Dustin; great-grandchildren, Anthony, Joe, Landon, Trinity; and brother, Holly (Dorothy) Dickerson.

Visitation will be held from 5-7pm on Friday, January 19, 2018 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Service will be held at 11am on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Lighthouse Christian Fellowship, 315 Graham Rd., Cuyahoga Falls, with visitation from 10-11am. Cremation will take place at a later date.
