Bertha W. Anderson, age 93 of Navarre, Ohio, went home to be with her Lord on Monday, November 19, 2018 at her home.
She was born on April 5, 1925 in Monticello, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Claude and Madie (nee McLane) Hurt.
Bertha was a beautician and enjoyed flower gardening, there was always something blooming in her yard. She loved taking care of her family, with her cooking, baking, and canning.
Mrs. Anderson, along with her family, was a very dedicated and an active member of the Whipple Avenue Baptist Church since 1955.
Survivors include her husband, Gene Anderson, whom she married on April 21, 1951; her two sons, Dana (Debra) Anderson, and Dean (Claudia) Anderson; five grandchildren, Micah Anderson, Emma Anderson, Kandice Birchfield, Jason Anderson, and Brian Anderson; one great-grandchild, Evelyn Birchfield. One brother also survives, James (Ilse) Hurt.
Other than her parents, Bertha was preceded in death by her siblings, Hazel Wallace Moreland and Theo Hurt.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at 10:30 AM at the Whipple Avenue Baptist Church, 191 Whipple Avenue NW, Canton, Ohio 44708, where Pastor David A. Denny will celebrate Bertha's life.
Family and friends may visit at the church on Saturday from 9:30 AM until the time of the service.
Memorial contributions may be sent to the church in Bertha's memory.
