Bertha E. Messner, 90, of Akron, went home to be with the Lord on her birthday, March 29, 2005. She was born in Cable County, West Virginia. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Messner and her parents. Bertha is survived by her sisters, Clodeen Tennant of Akron and Juanita Sword of Huntington, West Virginia; brother, Cledis Adkins of Huntington, West Virginia; very special niece, Sheila J. Hodinchak who cared for Bertha. Graveside funeral services will be held Friday beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Lakewood Cemetery with Pastor Emlous B. Lattea from God's House of Prayer officiating. There will be no calling hours.
