Bertha M. Phillips

Bertha M. Phillips, 96, of Brimfield, passed away September 23, 2006 at her residence. She was born July 4, 1910 in Kent, Ohio to the late Lester A. & Ethel M. (Potts) Kline. Bertha was a member of Springfield Church of the Brethren. She worked at Smith's Green House for 21 years and for P.M. Siefert Vegetable Farm for 4 years. In her free time, she enjoyed embroidery, sewing, travel and fishing. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul C. Phillips in 1987; sisters, Marie Kline and Irene M. Neding; brothers, Leonard, Glenn and Fred Kline. She is survived by her daughters, Pauline (Gene) Hill of Texas, Thelma (Lee) Siefert of Kent and Marilyn (Jim) Hodgeman of N. Carolina; sisters, Francis Stone of Rocky River, Rita Condit of Plain City, Louise (Harry) Williamson of Akron and Lucille (Dick) Buchanan of Hudson; brother, Earl (MaryJane) Kline of California; 7 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Springfield Church of the Brethren, 3500 Albrecht Ave., with Pastor Kris Hawk officiating. Interment will follow at Restland Cemetery.
