Bessie L. Adkins

Bessie L. Adkins, age 80, of Tallmadge, Ohio, died on Easter Sunday afternoon, April 4, 2021 at Western Reserve Hospital.
She was born in Harrison, Clay County, West Virginia on November 16, 1940, the daughter of the late David Cecil and Annie Ray (nee Boggs) Rose.
Bessie was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking, gardening and sewing. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. Her family was her pride and joy and made sure everyone was taken care of.
Survivors include her loving husband, Kenneth G. Adkins, whom she married on August 16, 1975; her children, Cindy Valentine, John (Willa) Collins, Rosemary Keller and Aaron Gregory Adkins; her grandchildren, Rob (Sarah) Valentine, Drew (Amber) Valentine, Annie Raye (Lance) Madden, Jordan Valentine, Amanda (Heath) Herron, Faith (Ben) Elmore, John (Aileen) Collins, D'Anna Catalanotto, Lee Albright, Phil Keller, Christopher (Lauren) Keller, Shana (Josh) Little, Robin Chadima and Ashley Adkins; and many great-grandchildren.
Her siblings also survive, Norman (Shirley) Rose and Charlotte (Mike) Burgess.
Other than her parents, Bessie was preceded in death by her children, Teresa Chadima and Julie Collins; and her siblings, Rockford, Eugene and Merl Rose, and Becky Chapman and Gertha Willen.
Family and friends may visit from 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM on Friday, April 9, 2021 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron, Ohio. The funeral service will follow and will be private.
The family wishes to thank the Western Reserve Hospital ICU for their loving care and concern that was shown to Bessie.
