Bessie L. Massey

Bessie L. Massey age 87, of Temperance, Michigan and formerly of Akron, Ohio went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 17th, 2010. She was born January 15th, 1923 to Marion and Ollie (Speare) Wood in Glasgow, Kentucky. Bessie was a very religious person who often enjoyed listening to Christian radio and having the Bible read to her. She was also an avid collector of antique glassware. Her family will remember her as a loving and supportive mother and grandmother.
Survivors include her son Neal (Monika) Massey; grandchildren, Jerry (Delina), Dion (Julie), Theresa (Thom), Alescia, Amanda and Edward; numerous great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; sister, Ina Kemp and many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death is her husband, Wilburn Massey and son, Gene Massey.
The family will receive guests Friday, June 25th, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron, Ohio. Funeral Services will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 26th, 2010 in the funeral home. Officiating will be Rev. Ron Mohlmaster. Entombment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
