Bessie Rankin

Bessie M. Rankin, 90, passed away surrounded by her family on August 27, 2017. A longtime resident of Akron, she was born May 31, 1927. Bessie enjoyed camping, bowling, accompanying C.D. on hunting trips, cooking, crocheting, going to bingo and casinos. She made many friends during her camping and bingo days. Bessie had a great love for her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Bessie was preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years, C.D.; son-in-law, Rob Felitsky Sr.; and 9 siblings. She is survived by children, Clarence Jr. (Cheryl) Rankin, Cynthia "Cindy" Felitsky, "Bernie" (Bob) Walker; grandchildren, Gary (Julie), Crissy (Rick), Greg (Rachel), Jody, Denna, Robin (Ken), Robbie, Jerry, T.G. (Julie); great-grandchildren, Allie, Cody, Zach, Hannah, Emily, Tim, Clay, Shelby, Darby, Maxwell, Lindsay, Bodie, Megan, Preston, Chloe, Peyton, Harper; and special family, Tom, Linda, Sue, Norma, George Jr., Judy, Loretta (Dennis), Shirley (Bill). The family would like to thank Altercare of Hartville and Dr. Mark Smith for the loving and special care she received.

Visitation will take place on Thursday, August 31, 2017 from 3:00pm -5:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Memorial service will begin at 5:00pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Altercare of Hartville.
