Betty A. Howard (Moncrief), 85, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Monday, February 10, 2014. Betty was born May 17, 1928 in Akron, and lived her life in the Tallmadge/Cuyahoga Falls areas. She graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School in 1946, and held several secretarial positions from 1946 until her retirement from Kent State University. Betty was an active member of Chapel Hill Church.
Preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Leola Moncrief; devoted husband, Robert O. Howard; brother, Marvin Moncrief; and sister, Virginia Lucas.
Betty is survived by her daughters, Sandra Howard of High Point, NC, Linda (Scott) Korman of Streetsboro, son, Gary O. Howard of Atlanta, GA; beloved granddaughter, Erica Beard and great-granddaughter, Audrina Beard. Betty is also survived by her brothers, David Moncrief of Akron, Ronald (Judy) Moncrief of Tallmadge; nieces, nephews, and friends. Betty also leaves behind three special "step-grandchildren": Jon, Andrea, and Allison Korman, who brought her immeasurable joy for the past 12 years of her life.

Visitation will be Thursday February 13 from 10-12 followed by a 12 noon funeral service at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron with Pastor Kurt Huber officiating. Interment at Tallmadge Cemetery.
