Betty D. Carder, 84, passed away on October 12, 2017. She was born in Jal, New Mexico on May 29, 1933 to the late Jonny and Violet Cooper.
Betty was a longtime member of East Market Street Church of God, where she served as past president of the Ladies Auxiliary. She was very artistic and made beautiful ceramic dolls, Faberge style eggs, and other crafts. She loved flowers, particularly in her favorite color, purple. Betty was devoted to her family and took great pride in her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her siblings, Robert Cooper, Corena Feryo, and Burt Cooper; and grandson, Jeremy Carder. She will be deeply missed by her loving husband of 68 years, John Carder; children, Gail (Frank) Norris, Dale Carder, and Ray (Wynn) Carder; brothers, Glen Cooper and Charles (Jimmy) Cooper; grandchildren, Samantha Westfall, Michael Carder (Cheyenne Christy), Dawn (Danny) Taylor, Christina (Johnny) Morris, Brandi (Matthew) Parr, and Aaron Kosic; fifteen great-grandchildren and one on the way.
Family and friends may call on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 from 5-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Rick Fuson officiating. Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Stow-Glen Retirement Village or the Alzheimer's Association.
