Betty Fae Hart, age 88 of Brimfield, Ohio, died on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at 7:55 PM at Hospice Care Center in Copley.
She was born on January 14, 1930 in Braxton County, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Herbert C. and Delta (nee Starcher) Case.
Betty was an LPN and retired from Robinson Memorial Hospital in Ravenna. She liked gardening, canning, and feeding her birds. She was well known for cooking up a batch of apple butter in her copper kettle.
Betty was a lifetime member of the Brimfield United Methodist Church; a member of the Brimfield Garden Club; and the Red Hat Society.
Survivors include her children, Diane L. Cole of Gassaway, WV and Stephen H. Hart of Kent; her grandchildren, Tamela (Dennis) Shawhan, Nicholas Starcher, Simon (Karri) Cole, Alexander Hart, and Daniel Hart; one great-grandchild, Andrew (Marissa) Snyder; and three great-great-grandchildren, Aiden, Noah, and Annabella Snyder. Betty's siblings also survive, Amy Jean McCormick, Geneva (Ray) Case, and Jerry Case.
Other than her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Forrest A. Hart, whom she married in 1948; two children, Anita Starcher and Daniel T. Hart; and one brother, Gordon Case.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, April 8, 2018 at Brimfield United Methodist Church, 1235 Tallmadge Road, Brimfield, Ohio 44240, where Pastor Tina Nees will celebrate Betty's life.
Calling hours will take place at the church on Sunday from 1:00 PM until the time of the service.
Mrs. Hart will be laid to rest next to her husband in Restland Cemetery, Brimfield, Ohio.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Newcomer Funeral Home-Akron.
