Betty Jane Hill, age 83 of Akron passed away peacefully on Friday, June 18, 2021. A lifelong resident of Akron, Betty was born on March 21, 1938, the daughter of the late Theodore and Laura {Poff} Hill.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her former husband Richard D. Gordon, sisters Dorothy Hartzell and Mary Ann Miller, brothers Jack and Teddy Hill.
Betty will be dearly missed by her children, Richard Gordon and Teresa (Martin) Head-Gordon; grandchildren Genevieve Head-Gordon, Nadine Head-Gordon, Ava Gordon and Dalton Gordon; sisters Nancy Nofsinger and Irene (John) Thomas; brother John (Laurel) Hill; many nieces and nephews.
Betty graduated from Garfield High School in 1956. She adored her family, and her life was filled with laughter and memories with them and her dearest friends. Betty loved to beautify her home, planting flowers and acting as her own interior designer.
Per Betty's wishes, cremation has taken place, and a memorial service will be held in her honor on Friday, June 25, at 1:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. Akron, 44305.
