Betty J. Holcomb left the loving arms of her family on Wednesday, January 10, 2007 and entered into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus in Heaven. Born in Spencer, WV on September 27, 1931, she was the daughter of Cora and Walter Mack Jarvis and had resided in Akron since 1958. Our loving Nini will be remembered for her devotion to her family. She spoiled us all. She loved to cook, garden, and play cards with Papa, Nikki, and John. We all have stories of her kindness, willingness to help anyone in need, and her overall fun, loving personality with such spunk that always seemed to keep us smiling. She was the most precious gift from God and we will miss her dearly. The family would like to thank the caring, compassionate and kind staff of the Hospice Care Center of Akron. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 48 years, Romie D. Holcomb, Jr.; her loving daughter and son-in-law, Nikki and John Yakubik. She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren, Dawn Hornbeck of Tallmadge, Michelle and Jerry Mosley of Akron, and Angela and John Steger of Tallmadge; and seven great-grandchildren, David and Haley Hornbeck, Cassidy and Jay Mosley, Austin, and Caden Steger, and Kaylee Dudek. She leaves three sisters, Mary Ferrebee of Clay, WV, Ruby Boss of Orville, OH, Mae White of Los Angeles, CA. She also leaves many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. A private family ceremony was held on January 13, 2007. The family requests memorials to the Hospice Care Center, 3340 Ridgewood Rd., Akron, OH 44333.
