Betty L. Burdette
Betty L. Burdette, 67, of Springfield Township, passed away November 12, 2004 at Akron General Medical Center. She was born May 11, 1937 in Charleston, West Virginia to the late Matthias & Iva (Good) Rhodes. Betty has lived in Akron since 1959 and had many pen pals across the world. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and she loved to cook for the entire family on all the holidays. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by 2 brothers and 1 sister. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, David Burdette of Springfield Township; daughter, Pam (Bernie) Montella of Akron; son, David (Kay) Burdette of Springfield Township; grandchildren, Tony, Andrew, Aaron and Alex Montella, Jeff and Sarah Burdette; and 2 brothers. Calling hours will be Monday from 6 - 9 p.m. at NEWCOMER-FARLEY FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. where funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Barry Creekmore officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Memorial Park.
