Betty Lee Leach

Betty Lee Leach (Shepherd, Burge), 86, of Green, passed away peacefully with family by her side on March 15, 2024. She was born in Springfield Township on December 21, 1937 to the late Ollie and Emma Shepherd. Betty spent her life as a cook and waitress in various area restaurants. She was loved by her customers at Lindsey's, Wally Waffle and Dilly's. In her free time, Betty loved to be outdoors. Some of her favorite memories were made on family camping trips. She also loved fishing, picnics, holiday gatherings, and trips "down home to the holler" in Shadyside, Ohio and West Virginia to visit extended family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her first husband, Lawrence Burge Sr.; second husband, James Leach; children, Elloise Martin and James Burge; grandson, Jamison Graham.
She will be dearly missed by her son, Lawrence Burge Jr.; daughters, Karen (Jerry) Davies and Brenda Graham; stepdaughters, Jeanette (Dennis) Weaver, Jean (Ray) Blake, and Robin Webb; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Betty will be laid to rest at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Rd., Rittman, Ohio on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at 2:15 p.m. Family and friends may gather at the cemetery entrance at 2:00 p.m.
