Betty Butz (nee Vanderhoff)
Betty Butz, nee Vanderhoff, 45, went home to be with her Lord and Savior January 8, 2010 after a long illness. She was born February 20, 1964 in Titusville Pennsylvania and was a lifetime resident of Akron. She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Vanderhoff Sr. and dad, Wilbert D. Pierce. She is survived by children, David Breiding, Charles Vanderhoff, Steven Butz, Meggan Butz and Thomas Butz. She is also survived by mother, Margaret Pierce, sisters, Diane Vanderhoff, Linda Royer (Clay), Charlotte Lybrook (Rich), Beverly McMahon; brothers, Jim Vanderhoff, Eric Pierce, Dale Pierce and Ronnie Pierce; numerous nieces and nephew who loved her very much. Betty had a huge heart and especially loved the little ones. Her vivacious spirit and happy-go-lucky nature comforted and inspired many. She spent her life simply loving those around her and will be missed by all who knew her. Her laughter will ring in the ears of her loved ones for years to come. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, January 12, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 13, at 11 a.m. with a visitation one hour prior. Pastor Rick Fuson will officiate. Private internment will take place at Hillside Memorial Park.
