Betty J. Mcginnis

Betty J. McGinnis, 86, passed away on March 23, 2018. Betty was born in Tanner, WV on July 15, 1931. She had been a resident of Akron since 1954. She enjoyed being a homemaker and raising two fine sons. She was a member of the Clearview United Methodist Church, where she helped with the Monday work day, the nursery, and also belonged to the Naomi Circle for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bertha and Howard Hall, two sisters, Virginia Cox of Vienna, West Virginia, Dorothy Marshall of Florida, Jean Thorne of Illinois; and brother, Harold Hall, of Vincent, Ohio.

Betty is survived by her husband of 64 years, Harold, and her sons, Fred (Theresa) and Richard, both of Akron. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Kelly Vanhoorik, and Ted and Joe Burkey, and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters, Delora Dent of Parkersburg, West Virginia, and Carolyn Burkhamer of Belpre, Ohio; also, many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 9am to 11am on Monday March 26, 2018 at Newcomer 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, with a funeral service to take place on 11am officiated by Rev. Linda Bradley.
