Betty L. Nixon (Griffith)

Betty L. Nixon (Griffith), 90, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2017. She was born on September 22, 1926 in Clarksburg, WV. Betty was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She retired from Cuyahoga Falls General Hospital after many years of dedicated service.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, George; parents, Alvy and Louise Griffith; daughter, Georgianna Baltzer; granddaughter, Cara Pircio; brothers, William and Lawrence; and sister, Doris Jean. She is survived by her children, Jane (Terry) Brannan, David Nixon, Joan (Michael) Pircio; son-in-law, Curtis Baltzer; grandchildren, Leah Hunter (son, Brigham), Stacy (Adam) Brannan-Smith (son, Henson, daughter, Mercy), Hollie (Chris) Knuckles (daughter, Sierra), Katie (Mike) Eddins (sons, Vincent and Lorenzo), Betty Brannan, Jeremy Nixon (Jenna Waterhouse) (daughter, Ava), Leslie (Donald) Wagler (son, Dominic, daughter, Sofia), Jessica (Jacob) Plummer (sons, Tristan, Caleb and Rowan), Carly Baltzer, Lindsay (Chris) Lyons (sons, Davin, Tobin); numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 14, 2017 at Wedgewood United Methodist Church, 2350 Wedgewood Ave., Akron, OH 44312 from 11:30am - 1:00pm with funeral service at 1:00pm. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park, Akron to follow.
