Betty Pruitt Ferguson Baker
Betty Baker, 71, of Mogadore, went home to be with the Lord on December 18, 2009. Betty was born February 22, 1938 in Chattanooga, Tennessee to the late Charles and Rosa Pruitt. She was a lifetime member of the First Apostolic Church of Tallmadge where she taught Sunday School and was involved in the music, outreach, and nursing home ministries of the church. She was known for her ability to cook and entertain. Betty received her Associate's Degree in Christian Education from Indiana Bible College. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leondus Ferguson; and siblings, Lucille Childress, Carl Ford, Dorothy Dawson, Shirley Magrell. She will be deeply missed by her daughters, Wanda (John) Snell and Rose Stanich; sister, Carolyn (Kenny) Levan; grandchildren, Michelle (Ron) Adkins, Heather Scott, Ashley (Guy) Hoss, John Robert (Karri) Snell, Kim (Barry) Shirkey, and Justin Snell; great-grandchildren, Reece Scott, Jayden Scott, Graeson Hoss, Victoria and Tiffany Shirkey, JR, Destiny, Clayton, and Zechariah Snell; many nieces and nephews; and close friends, Mary and George Klag and Mike Stanich. Family and friends may call on Monday from 5-8 p.m. at First Apostolic Church of Tallmadge, 199 South Avenue. Funeral services will be at the church on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with visitation for one hour prior, Pastor Kenneth Bulgrin officiating. Interment at Tallmadge Cemetery.
