Betty Louise Smoot, Nee Brown
March 2, 1935 — November 2, 2022
Betty Louise Smoot, nee Brown, went home to be with her Savior on November 2, 2022 at the age of 87 in Cuyahoga Falls, OH.
Betty was born to Edward and Mamie Brown in Linnyville, WV. She graduated from Newell High School, and later in life, from Moody Bible Institute.
Shortly after graduating from high school she met the love of her life, Jim, while rollerskating. They married on March 5, 1955 and spent 67 years together.
Through the years mom enjoyed singing in the church choir, singing with the Patterson Park Singers, and working in the church library.
Betty was kind to everyone she met, and whole heartedly there for her family. She enjoyed traveling with her husband. They traveled to most of the 50 states, including Hawaii.
Betty was preceded in death by her grandson Michael.
She is survived by her husband, Jim, their children Jeris and husband John Watkins, Jim and wife Debbie Smoot, Brenda and husband Dave Sturm, 7 grandchildren, Bill, Abram, Shayne, Sasha, Bethany, Taylor, Joshua, and 18 great grandchildren.
Memorial services will he held at Forest Hill Community Christian Church, 724 Damon St., Akron, OH 44310, on Saturday, November 12th at 2:00 P.M.
