Betty J. Varner

Betty J. Varner, age 90, of Cuyahoga Falls, went home to be with the Lord on November 20, 2024. She was born in Carroll County, Virginia on October 12, 1934 to the late Raymond and Beulah (Sawyers) Bond. She met Russell Varner in Virginia while he was serving in the Army and they married and moved to Ohio in 1956. She served as a homemaker and pastor's wife for over 40 years. She taught Sunday School and enjoyed children. In empty nesting years, she enjoyed traveling to Nashville, Branson and visiting family. On June 3rd of this year, Betty and Russ celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary. 

Betty is survived by her loving husband Russell; son and daughter-in-law Gary and Diane Varner; daughter Debbie Mitchell; granddaughter Jennifer (Bill) Hitchcock; great-grandsons Cody, Brady and Dylan Hughes; and sister Virginia Ruth (Darrell) Jennings; and other relatives and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her granddaughter Laura Hughes; son-in-law Frank Mitchell; and siblings Lorraine Peterson, Joyce Cole, Glen and Guy Bond.

 As per her wishes a private family service was celebrated on Sunday November 24th. Her final resting place is Northlawn Memorial Gardens.
