Betty Lou Yambor, age 85 of Akron, Ohio, died on June 18, 2018 at Akron General Hospital.
She was born in Akron on June 13, 1933, the daughter of the late John B. and Ada J. (nee Chapman) Stewart.
Betty was a homemaker and enjoyed people. She was a true "people person". Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
Betty is survived by her children, Diana (Donald) Peterson, Jackie Murphy, Alex J. (Victoria) Yambor, Jr., and Joey (companion, Shirley Casselberry) Yambor; her grandchildren, Christie (Steve) Sears, Kelly (companion, Adam Martin) Peterson, and Ashley Greer; and her great-grandchildren, Bryson Hunt, Cohen Sears, and Aiden Greer.
Other than her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Alex J. Yambor, Sr. on August 10, 2012, they were united in marriage on September 22, 1951; and her two brothers, Edward and John Stewart.
Memorial services will be held on Monday, July 23, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron, where family and friends are welcomed from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
Burial of her urn will follow at Lakewood Cemetery, Akron, Ohio, next to her beloved husband.
