Betty Delores {Zetty} Zuchowski

Betty D. {Zetty} Zuchowski, age 91, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by loved ones on April 12, 2022. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to many.

She was born on October 27, 1930 to Daniel W. and Thelma L. {Halbritter} Zetty in Tunnelton, WV.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband Bernard, sons Tony and Bernie Zuchowski, son-in-law Bob King, great-grandson Anthony, several extended family members and friends.

Betty will be dearly missed by her children Judy King, Barb Tanner and Dave Zuchowski; daughter-in-law Ruth Zuchowski; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Virginia Zetty; many extended family members and friends.

Betty graduated from nursing school in 1982 at the age of 52, and had a 13 year career as an LPN at St. Thomas Hospital. She also sold Avon for years, earning many of their top awards.

Betty was a longtime member of Hillwood Chapel, and sang in the choir. She loved bowling, fishing with her son Dave and getting together with family, especially during the holidays. Betty enjoyed long rides and the adventure of getting lost with her sisters; together, they even traveled on a cross country train trip to California with their mother.

Betty baked THE BEST homemade bread rolls, pulaski, fried bread dough and peanut butter fingers.

Betty believed in working for what you have. She was an amazing, loving woman who never complained, and she will be remembered for her lessons, determination and kind disposition.

Family and friends are welcome to visit at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. Akron, OH 44305 on Monday, April 18 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. A celebration of Betty's life will begin at 12:00 p.m., with Pastor Tim Hileman officiating.
