Beulah (Burton) Campbell rejoined family and friends, August 6, 2013, following a long period of dementia. She was born August 8, 1917 in Dallas, WV to William and Florence Burton. Beulah graduated in 1935 from Follansbee H. S. during the great depression and worked her way through the University of Maryland in three years earning a B.S Degree in Education Home Economics in 1938. Her first teaching position was in Kitzmiller, MD, where she met her future husband, Ralph E. Campbell and they were married in 1940. Together with newborn son, R. Thomas, the family moved to Akron where Ralph began working at Goodyear Aircraft in 1942. The following year their second son, William was born. Beginning in 1948, Beulah taught Home Economics, English Literature and Science at Mogadore High School. After earning a Graduate Degree in Library Science from Kent State University in 1964, Beulah established the Mogadore Somers Elementary Library that she truly loved, serving until retiring in 1981. Beulah was active in various Christian Women's groups, taught Sunday School and was a member of the Suffield United Church of Christ.
Widowed since 1977, Beulah is survived by her loving sons R. Thomas (Judy) Campbell and William (Sandy, deceased); treasured grandchildren, Shari (William) Lotz; James Campbell, Brimfield, OH; Bryan Campbell, Hamden, CT; Laurel (John) Marazita, Columbus, OH; great-grandchildren, Michael Lotz, Marietta, GA, Annie and Carrie Marazita, Columbus, OH.
Beulah was the eldest daughter of seven siblings. Preceded in death, siblings, Samuel Burton, Francis Burton, and Arlene Linger. Beulah is survived by siblings, Bessie Eddy, WV, Alan (Donna) Burton, NC, Jean Armstrong, CA. The family wishes to thank both Stow Glen Retirement Center and The Gardens of Western Reserve for their loving care over the past 12 years.
Calling hours will be from 9:30 am to 11 am on Saturday, August 17 at the Suffield United Church of Christ, 1115 St. Rt. 43, Suffield, Ohio. A memorial service will follow at 11 am with Rev. Richard Beck officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Suffield United Church of Christ.
