Beulah J. Swope

Beulah J. "Billie" Swope, 80, of Mogadore, passed away on Tuesday, December 4, 2012. She was born on June 14, 1932 in Akron to the late Lawrence and Opal Thornton. Billie retired from Goodyear after 40 years of service. She enjoyed camping, traveling, going to Las Vegas and spending time with family.

Billie is preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Lawrence Thornton, Jr. and James Thornton. She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Robert G. "Bob" Swope; son, Dale (Tammy) Swope; grandchildren, Amanda (Jarrod), Melissa (Mike), Rebecca, Erica and honorary granddaughter, "Mabel"; great grandchildren, Michael, Tyler, Lexi and Christopher; stepchildren, Linda and Pam; many nieces, nephews and relatives.

Friends may call 5-8 PM on Thursday, December 6, 2012 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd, Akron, OH 44305 and 10-12 Noon on Friday, December 7, 2012 at the funeral home with a funeral service immediately following. The family wishes to thank the staff members at Summa Hospice and Altercare of Hartville for their compassionate care.
