Beverly A. McNeil
Beverly A. McNeil (Bixler), 74, passed away August 24, 2011 after a brief illness. Beverly was always known for helping friends and family as well as being a dedicated volunteer to numerous projects around Akron, especially the Akron Inventors Hall of Fame. Akron was Beverly's home and she was a graduate of Saint Vincent High School. She enjoyed reading, traveling, cooking, puzzles, and music. Although recently returning to Akron, Beverly spent more than a decade in California and Arizona. Beverly discovered the joys of travel late in life but made the most of every moment. Beverly took advantage of every chance to travel with her daughter Beth Hensley. Continuing in her footsteps is her daughter, Beth Hensley, who was there throughout her journey and will never forget the positive impact that Beverly made on everyone she knew.
Beverly completed her journey with the help of many family and friends that went before her. Including her son in law, Mike Hensley; her parents; aunts; and best friend Jo Wellendorf. There will be no immediate memorial or calling hours, but friends and family may participate in a celebration of her life and accomplishments that will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, anyone wishing to help the family may make donations in Beverly's name to the American Cancer Society.
