Beverly Ann Breeding was born to Elzie and Lucille Streeter on November 19, 1951 in Cleveland, Ohio. She and her older brother, Eugene, attended schools in Cleveland. Her love of learning and her desire to help people prompted her to choose a teaching career. Beverly attended Mt Vernon College in Wooster, Ohio. After graduation she began her 17 year teaching career.
While in college a cousin began telling Beverly about God's promise to make the earth a paradise. Beverly wanted to learn more so she began an in-depth Bible study with Jehovah's Witnesses. Her love for Jehovah prompted her to dedicate her life to him and be baptized in 1976. The friends in the Portage Path Congregation (where she attended) would agree she always have encouraging words to share and she would have a joyful spirit.
Who could guess that an invitation to go skating would lead to romance and marriage. Beverly was introduced to Cleveland Breeding at a skating party. Six months later they were married. Their family expanded to include their beloved daughter, Chelsea.
The family faced an unexpected challenge when Beverly got sick. The doctors had to perform an operation on her brain. She was in the hospital for 48 days. Everyone admired her determination to get better. She eventually made a full recovery.
Chelsea reminisces, " My Mother was always positive and encouraging. She loved her ministry and she loved helping people. Whenever I needed encouragement or a helping hand I knew I could count on her to be there for me."
Cleveland remembers that each day Beverly had a list of 25 people that she would send a text message to encourage them with a scriptural thought. Cleveland also fondly remembers, " She loved fashion. She enjoyed shopping and getting dressed. She did that REAL well. You wouldn't catch her not on point. Beverly was always ready for a picture. From her hair to the shine on her shoes!"
Friends and family agree that Beverly loved many things. Line dancing, gardening, traveling (Cleveland doing the driving) are some of her favorites.
