Beverly J. Wilkins
Beverly J. Wilkins, 80, passed away March 3, 2012 due to complications from heart surgery. Born March 1, 1932, she lived to celebrate her 80th birthday. Beverly moved to Akron in 1952 from Iselin, PA. She raised two boys and is the true matriarch of her family. Beverly was welcomed into heaven by her loving husband, JR; son, Dave; and parents, Tom and Edna Yates. Left to carry on her legacy is son, Barry Wilkins of Tampa, FL; daughter-in-law, Lori Wilkins; grandchildren, Barry Wilkins Jr., Wendy (Art) Dobbins, Tom Wilkins, Ben Wilkins, and Julianne Wilkins; great-grandchildren, Artie, Adam & Anna Dobbins; brother-in-law, Grant (Katie) Wilkins; special cousin, Melody (Gary) Moyers; and her breakfast club. The family would like to thank the nurses at Summa SCVICU for their special care that made her 10 weeks there bearable. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, March 7, from 5 to 8 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where a service will be held Thursday, March 8, at 11 am with Mr. Adam Gable officiating.
