Ernest "Bill" McArthur, 84, passed away peacefully with his wife of 63 years by his side on December 14, 2022 in Lakeland, Florida. Bill was born in Akron on February 12, 1938 to the late Ernest and Glennis McArthur.
Bill joined the U.S. Army in 1961 and proudly served for six years. After his honorable discharge from the service, he started his career with Austin Printing and retired after 38 years in the bindery department. He was a longtime member of the Mogadore Moose for over 50 years. He had interests, including fishing and rooting for all the Cleveland sports teams as well as the Buckeyes. For the past 20 years, Bill and his wife Judy enjoyed winters in Florida where they made many good friends.
Bill was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Judy; children, Cynthia Kisner (Dave Somerville), William "Billy" (Susanne) McArthur, Michelle (Chad) Shultz, and Mike (Theresa) McArthur; grandchildren, Eric (Renata) Lentz, Chad (Linzi) Lentz, Tiffany (Charles) Brinkley, Matthew Traugh (Jillian), Josh McArthur, and Austin McArthur; great-grandchildren, Jaden, Charlee, Easton, and Sebastian. He also leaves many friends including longtime friends, Frank and Phyllis Zahler.
Per Bill's wishes, services will be private and he will be laid to rest at Hillside Memorial Park.
