Billy Joe Graham, 88, of North Benton, passed away on August 29, 2023. He was born in Smithville, Tennessee on June 23, 1935 to the late John Edward and Fannie Mae Graham.
Billy spent his entire career in metal fabrication, retiring at the age of eighty-one. He was an amazing craftsman. One of his most notable projects was working with his son to build the table that supports the Star Spangled Banner flag at the Smithsonian. His contribution to this project was included in an episode on the History Channel.
In addition to his parents, Billy was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Helen; son, Timothy; granddaughter, Linsey Parry; grandson, Travis Graham; sister, Josephine Hale; and brother, Wayne Graham.
He will be dearly missed by his children, Terri (James) Kaser, David Graham, and Cheryl (Arnold) Krise; sister, Ann (Phillip) Hawkins; brother, Carlon (Melba) Graham; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 5, 2023 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. followed by a 1 p.m. funeral service at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
