Blaine W. Denious
Blaine W. Denious, 81, of Akron, passed away April 13, 2010. Blaine was born in Akron on March 30, 1929. During his service in the U.S. Army, he was stationed in Alaska where he served as a game warden and was able to pursue his love of fishing. He married Barbara Kovacs on November 17, 1956 and together they shared 53 wonderful years of marriage. Blaine retired from Norfolk and Southern Railroad, where he worked as a diesel electrician. In his free time, he fished in all the lakes of Ohio and Pennsylvania and he shared his knowledge and equipment with children. He bowled in many area leagues, scored many perfect 300 games, and was a member of the Tri-County Bowling Hall of Fame. He was a master of all trades and was generous in helping others with projects. Above all, he was a friend to all who touched his life and a very special Grandpa to his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Blaine and Nina; twin sister, Mayla Woody; sisters, Aileen Kelley and Marian Chandler; and niece, Connie Labbe. He will be deeply missed by his wife, Barbara; sons, Mark A. Denious and Blaine J. (Helen) Denious; grandchildren, Kolton and Kayla Denious; and daughter-in-law, JoAnn Denious. Family and friends may call on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., where funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m., with Pastor Carl Wright officiating. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park with military honors provided by Mogadore VFW 8487.
