Bobbie Jean Ramsey (maiden name Hopkins, father Harlan Damron) passed away peacefully Saturday morning Nov. 1, 2008 with her partner of 54 years, Edward Morrell Ramsey by her side at their home in Akron. Born in Greasy Creek, Pike County, KY on August 23, 1933. They moved to Akron in 1956. Proceeded in death by her mother, Rissie (Hopkins) Damron, father Harlan Damron, stepfather Perry Prater, her aunt Bessie Robinson, and many other aunts and uncles. She leaves behind her husband, Edward M. Ramsey; her daughter, Teresa (Ramsey) Ratliff (Jerry); her son, James Gregory Terry (Debbie Jo); grandchildren Edward Shane, and Melissa Jo; great-grandson, Tyler Shane; stepbrothers and sisters and all their children and many other relatives and friends. Calling hours at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, Ohio, Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2008 from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2008 from 6 to 8 p.m. Services Thursday, Nov. 6, 2008 at the funeral home at 11:00 a.m., followed by internment at Hillside Memorial Park.
