Bobby E. Fleming

Bobby E. Fleming, 71, of Akron, passed away at home surrounded by family on October 6, 2023. He was born on March 16, 1952 in Huntsville, Alabama to the late Clarence and Lillie Mae Fleming. He was a member of the Plumbing and Pipefitting Local 219 for over 30 years, and had a part in building many of the hospitals here in the Akron area.

Bobby was an athletic man who enjoyed playing golf and baseball throughout his life. He was an avid bowler and a skilled chess player. Above all though, Bobby cherished spending time with his family and friends at social events and family gatherings.

In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by his son, Robert Fleming; sister, Mae Bell Starnes; brother, Clarence Fleming; and long-time companion, Denise Jones.

Left to cherish his memory are daughters, Kayla (Delly) McCalister of Akron, OH and Kathi Fleming of Pittsburgh, PA; honorary daughter, Yolanda (William) Barris; sisters, Ethel Cook, and Lillie Fleming, and brother, Charles Fleming, all of Akron, OH; special nieces, Habeebah (Salim) Rahmaan and Rhonda Grant; best friend, Clifford Fennell; and many other nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of friends.

The Fleming family would like to extend a special thank you to caregivers, Amberlyn Spear and Shantel Jackson for their loving care.

Visitation will take place on Friday October 20, 2023 from 11am until the time of service at 12pm Noon at Newcomer 131 N. Canton Rd, Akron, OH 44305.
