Brandon Jerard Varner, 34, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 26, 2019. Brandon was affectionately known as "BJ" to all who knew him. He was a gentle soul with a contagious smile that would light up any room. He received Christ at an early age and was a member of Solid Rock Christian Ministry.
Brandon Varner was born on November 11, 1984 to Sallie Mae Varner and Fred Varner Jr. in Akron, Ohio where he resided all of his life. He graduated from North High School where he obtained many accomplishments and awards in track and field. BJ was a very creative, artistic, and intelligent. He was exceptionally knowledgeable in computer technology. He worked in IT where he could trouble shoot almost anything. BJ was a man of many talents with a background in different fields of work.
BJ had a way about him that was so gentle and humble. BJ loved his family and he would always show it with the biggest bear hugs. He was a great mentor to his nieces, nephews, and cousins. He had the biggest heart and he would help you in any way that he could. He could get on your nerves and then make you laugh all in the same moment. He was quiet, but when he spoke it was usually to be silly and funny. BJ enjoyed playing his video games and watching movies in his spare time.
BJ was preceded in death by his grandparents, Sallie and Allan Lockett and Gertrude Varner and great-grandmother, Corneal Varner, all of Akron, Ohio; uncles, Kenny, Cloyed, Collie, Melvin Spragling and Vicktor Varner, all of Akron, Ohio; aunts, Arma Lee Spragling, Lorene (Odell) Poole, and Samara Varner, all of Akron, Ohio; sister, Toy Hardin of Akron, Ohio.
BJ leaves to cherish his sweet memory, his parents, Sallie and Fred Varner Jr.; grandfather, Fred Varner Sr.; brothers, NeShaun (Carlita) Lockett, Frederick Lockett, Trey Varner, Troy Varner, Daniel (Megan) DeLeon, Macey Hardin, special cousin/brother, Amir (Michelle) Smith, all of Akron, Ohio; sisters, Robin Varner-Taylor, Caprice (Bobby) Gooch, special cousin/sister, Terica Poole, special nephew, Marquis Lockett and special niece, Tamiah McCants, all of Akron, Ohio; uncles, William (Gloria) Spragling, Emanuel Lockett, and Johann (Crystal) Varner, all of Akron, Ohio; aunts, Juanita Hundley, Lorease Spragling, Helen Spragling, Lela Spragling, Jurlande Varner, Derba Varner, all of Akron, Ohio and Susie Neeley of Chandler, Arizona.
Homegoing services will be held on Monday, July 8, 2019 at 12:00 noon at The Church of God MPGT, 200 Cole Ave, Akron, Ohio 44301. Family and friends may visit for one hour prior to the service. Interment at Glendale Cemetery.
