Brenda Lynn Ruhlin

Brenda Lynn Ruhlin, 67, passed away November 30, 2023 with her family by her side. Born in Akron, Ohio to Kenneth and Margaretta Cottrell, she was a lifelong area resident. Brenda was a 1975 graduate of Cuyahoga Falls High School and she attended Kent State University. She retired with 40 years of service as a driving instructor and examiner for the State of Ohio. Brenda was awarded as examiner of the year on two occasions. The Governor of Ohio presented her with a personalized license plate with her initials and unit numbers signed by him. Brenda enjoyed baking, crafting homemade cards for everyone, expressing her faith in God and spending time with her family.

In addition to her father she was preceded in death by her brother, Dennis Cottrell; brother-in-law, John Ruhlin. Brenda will be sadly missed by her husband of 42 years, Richard; mother and best friend, Margaretta Cottrell; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ben and Becky Ruhlin; several nieces and nephews.

The service will take place Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at 2 p.m. at Northlawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, 4724 State Rd., Peninsula, Ohio 44264. Those who wish may make memorial donations in Brenda's name to Grace Baptist Church, Akron, Ohio.
