Brian A. Montgomery, 8, of Rootstown, passed away April 3, 2006 at his residence. He was born June 26, 1997 in Fort Wayne, Indiana and attended St. Patrick School in Kent. Brian enjoyed karate. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Roger Montgomery and great-grandparents, Stanley & Irene Flak. Brian is survived by his parents, Mark & Sandra (Flak) Montgomery; sisters, Allison and Amy; grandparents, Stanley & Barbara Flak and Nancy Montgomery; many aunts and uncles, including his godfather, Michael Flak and godmother, Jeanine Wilson; many cousins - especially missed by Ben Taylor, Maddie and Johnnie Wilson, Emmaline Jenne, Michael Flak, Anna Jones, Evan and Wendy Flak. He leaves not only his loved ones but his family at St. Patrick School; his Free Spirit Karate family; his Chapter T family; and his Harvest Hills Family. Calling hours will be Thursday from 4 - 8 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Friday at St. Patrick Church, 313 N. Depeyster St., Kent with Fr. Robert Hannon presiding.
