Broderick Jerome Hogg received his wings on December 25, 2021. Beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother and friend. A faithful deacon of The South Street Mission, Inc., and a pillar in his community. He served as a Commander in the U. S. Army, stationed at Fort Benjamin Harrison. Broderick was an electrical engineer for many years and he also worked at the Pine Bluff Convention Center as a security guard. He was a lifetime member of the NAACP and he worked on President Barack Obama's presidential campaign and attended his inauguration. Born February 17, 1960 in Stuttgart, AR, he was the baby boy of 11 children. Broderick was united in holy matrimony to Pastor Meredith T. Higginbottom on June 9, 2018. He was a family oriented person and nothing pleased him more than spending time with his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jessie Henry Hogg, III, Jamisy Mae Pendleton Hogg; siblings, Barbara Jean Hogg, Billye Joyce Hogg Willis, Jessie Henry Hogg IV; father-in-law, Dr. James T. Higginbottom, Sr. He will be sadly missed by his beloved wife, Meredith; children, Broderick J. Hogg, Jr., Christopher Anderson, Clifton (Christina) Crutcher Autumn B. Gaines, Kiara James; step-son, Sterling N. Walker; grandchildren, Niyair, Christon, Cambrie, Camiyah, Arianna; siblings, Charles (Teresa) Hogg, Dave (April) Hood, Timmy Dale Burks, Benita (John) Tarpley, Jennifer (Hillary) Hogg-Hunter, Jeanette Bell, Judy (Terry) Hogg-Hunter, Jacqueline (Sammy) Grandy, Beretta Hogg; mother-in-law, Bishop Esterlena Higginbottom; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Family and friends are invited to visit Wednesday, January 5, 2022 from 1 to 2 p.m. at Newcomer, Akron Chapel, 131 N. Canton Rd. The Homegoing Celebration service will take place at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. "Don't cry for me, I'm with the Lord in Heaven now" Love, Broderick.
