Brody Donovan Staten, 36, went to be with his father on May 22, 2012.
Brody was an incredible artist and loved drawing superheroes. He will be remembered as "the life of the party", always quick with a joke.
Preceded in death by his father, John L. Staten; friend, Eric Thorla; and many other family members.
Survivors include his mother, Sharon Staten (Fred); sister, Wendy (Jody) Powell; niece, Haley; nephews, Dylan and Nicholas, who he considered his own; special aunt, Tracy (Dave) Walker-Bittner; uncles, Ron (Deb) Walker, Rick (Cheryl) Walker; aunt, Linda (Jim) Saylor; special cousins, Adam, Andrea, Anna, Matt, Eric, Kyle, Mark, Erika, and Jennifer; many other relatives from the Staten family. He will be missed by best friends, Will Rich and Steve Ritchie, who he considered his brothers; also, Matt, Jay, Stacey, Gary, Chris, Aaron, Ryan, Eddie, Carolyn; and many other friends too numerous to mention.
Calling hours will be Saturday, 11 am to 1 pm, at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, with a funeral service to follow at 1 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a college fund at US Bank for Brody's niece and nephews.
