Bruce E. "Bud" Barnes
Bruce E. "Bud" Barnes, 80, passed away March 9, 2011 after a courageous 4 ½ month battle following an accidental injury. He was very proud of his involvement with the Goodyear Airships (Blimps) for many years. Bruce was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Air Force, and was a member of St. Matthew Church. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Gloria; children, Steve (Sandy) Barnes and Lori (Bob) Bracey; grandchildren, Brea Miceli, and Tarah Bracey; and great-grandchildren, Michael, and Makenna. A funeral mass will be held Saturday, March 12, at 10 am at St. Matthew Catholic Church in Akron. PLEASE MEET AT THE CHURCH. NO VISITATIONS. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
