Bruce A. Gill, age 83, a lifelong resident of Akron, Ohio, passed away on September 27, 2021.
Bruce was born on July 2, 1938 in Akron to John and Evelyn (Zinkhann) Gill. He graduated from Central High School. Bruce served in the US Army from 1961 to 1967. He married the love of his life, Brenda on September 2, 1967. Bruce enjoyed watching football, playing tennis and golf. He liked going to the movies, and he had a one night spot light at the Carousel Dinner Theater; actually, he was practically dragged onto the stage to participate in a comedy skit. Bruce enjoyed walking his dog Tuffy at Firestone Country Club. He loved spending time with family and his daily conversations with his sister, Lois. Bruce was a quiet, gentle man, whose strength and dependability were unquestionable. He was loved by many and known for his ready smile.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Edward L. and Gary G. Gill, and brothers-in-law, Larry Downey, and Jeff Rudd.
Bruce is survived by his loving wife, Brenda (Crew), siblings, John (Sue) Gill, Lois Downey, Keith Gill, Dawn Rudd, (Mrs. Edward) Gerry Gill, sister-in-law; plus many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Friends and family may come to call on Saturday, October 9, 2021 from 1-2 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home in Akron. A memorial service will follow at 2 p.m.
