Carl F. Stevens, II
Carl Stevens, 75, passed away on February 14, 2022 after a courageous and well fought battle with cancer. Carl was very loved and will be dearly missed.
Carl was born in Akron and lived in the area his entire life. Carl enlisted in the Army and spent four years actively serving in Vietnam. Following his service, he was awarded the Bronze Star. Carl's commitment to serving others continued upon his return to Akron when he joined the Akron Police Department. He spent 32 years with the department, the last 20 years in the Detective Bureau, retiring in 2001. Carl was a member of the FOP, VFW 3383, and Disabled American Veterans.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and brother, James Stevens.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Peggy; children, Kim Stevens, Stacy (Shane) Robinson, and Bryan (Melissa Lison) Stevens; grandchildren, Jacob (Amanda Smith) Glatz, Alyssa (Joe) Doss, Chelsea (Jeremiah) Ross, Mia Robinson, and Noah Robinson; great-grandchildren, Olivia, Madelyn, Adam, and Oliver; sister, Jean Luckmeier, and sister-in-law, Rebecca Stevens.
Per Carl's wishes, there will be a private military service. Memorial contributions can be made in Carl's name to the Ronald McDonald House of Akron or the FOP Eternal Flame.
