Carla M. Johnson, age 46, of Akron, Ohio, formerly of Charleston, West Virginia, suddenly went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 15, 2007.
Carla was born in Baltimore, Maryland and was preceded in death by her parents, Orlando and Rachel Johnson.
Carla attended West Virginia State College where she graduated with a BA in Elementary Education. She was a beloved teacher who taught in the Kanawha County School System for more than 18 years.
She was a devout Christian and active in many church activities such as Sunday School teacher and Church Van Driver. She loved missionary work and recently completed a missionary journey to South Africa.
Carla leaves to mourn her passing, her uncle Robert L Wright of Stockton, CA, special friends, Anthony and Carmen Parrish and their children Nathanael and Sirena Parrish of Charleston, WV, special friends Reverend & Mrs David Samms of Charleston, WV and special friends, Bill and Denise Robinson of Akron, Ohio.
Funeral services will be held in Akron, Ohio on Thursday, October 25, 2007 at 11:00 am at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron, Ohio 44305 with Pastor Terry Hogue officiating. Interment will be in Woods Cemetery. Memorial Services will be held in Charleston, West Virginia at a later date. Details of memorial service to be announced.
