Carlene Smetts

Carlene Smetts (nee Riley), 81, passed away on September 27, 2011. Mom went home today to be with dad. Now they are together to see over all they love. She went gently with her dog, Brown Sugar, and loved ones by her side. She will be loved and thought about with tears till the hurt is gone, then smiles and laughter as we share her love. Mom will always be in all our hearts forever. Remember to watch out for each other, turn the other cheek, and watch your back…We love you mom. Mom was born in Sewanee, Tennessee on June 15, 1930 to Carl and Effie Riley. She watches over her children, Tom (June), Larry (Debbie), Dickie (Tina), and Debbie (Dave) Watson, Cheryl Teter, Connie Smetts; 16 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren. She also leaves a brother, Chuck; a sister, Phyllis; and many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Friday, 6-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where a funeral service will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Hillside Memorial Park.
