Carmen Joseph Bucca, 79, went to be with his Lord and Savior on July 5, 2021 at home in Akron, OH. Chuck was born January 25, 1942 to Anthony and Olive (Marshall) Bucca in Hastings, PA. He joined the US Army at the age of 17 and served in the 101st Airborne division as a paratrooper. After the Army, he met and married the Love of his Life, June Rose Blough. They were married for 53 years until she passed away on February 6, 2018. He retired from Chrysler in 2000 after 36 years of service. Chuck was an expert chess player, loved the Steelers, coin collecting, and studied the Bible for many years memorizing many of the books. His favorite was the book of Hebrews.
He is survived by sons, Tony and Mark; daughter, Michelle (James) Romano; grandchildren, Annemarie Carmen, Angela Rose, and James Vincent Romano; sisters, Sandra (Dennis) Johnston, Peggy Carson, Joann (Albert) Serafin, and Antoinette Hoosier; and many other relatives and friends. He also loved animals and is survived by his dog Dollie and cat Lucy.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, July 10 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, with visitation to follow until 4:00pm. Graveside services with military honors will be held at 11:00am on Monday, July 12 at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Seville, OH.
