Carol J. Bell

December 4, 1935 — September 13, 2022

Carol J Bell, 86, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, 13 September 2022 in Akron, Ohio. In this same city, she entered the world on December 4, 1935 on a wintry morning with Christmas "Carols" filling the hospital hall. She had a full, exciting and rewarding life where she cherished family, dedicated herself to service and explored her vast love of history and travel.

She wandered through Europe, Asia, South and Central America and while she might not have enjoyed the flight, or the drive, the destination was always worth it. Carol lived her dreams, pursued her passions, and collected treasures from each one of her adventures. She displayed them proudly around her home where one could share in her journey across four continents. Especially dear to Carol were her travels to France, Switzerland, Holland, Italy, Germany, Korea, Honduras and Argentina. Oh, the places she went and the stories she could tell...

While in Europe, Carol spent innumerous hours volunteering with the North Atlantic Girl Scouts where she mentored young minds, imparted knowledge, and shared her many talents. The highlight of her tenure was participating in the Girls Scouts' Around the World event in Adelboden, Switzerland. When she wasn't on the road, Carol was a manager at McDonald's for over 25 years leaving an indelible mark on the staff and customers with her unparalleled commitment to service and excellence. Continuing with her volunteerism, Carol was also an active member of the Springfield Band Booster Club and president for three years. She was an advocate for music in the schools, a supporter of education and a positive force in the community.

Carol achieved much throughout her life, but her greatest accomplishment was her two loving daughters Wendi and Tifany. Being a mother was her life's ambition and by God's grace, Carol found her daughters 6,500 miles away in South Korea. From that moment on, Carol surrendered her heart and dedicated her life to her newly formed family. Likewise, Carol became both the Sun and Moon for her daughters. Wendi and Tifany truly brought her joy throughout the years.

Carol held love for family and loyalty dear. As such, she treasured every moment spent together with her daughters and her grandchildren in the years to follow. Abuela for one family and Nini for another; both names held special meaning for Carol. She loved her grandchildren with great fervor and wanted them to know the special place in her heart that she held for each and every one of them.

Carol was a true institution for her family and the sails that kept the ship moving. Her life was a blessing, she was loved beyond words and her memory will forever be cherished. Carol is survived by her daughters Wendi (Jon) Liebmann and Tifany (David) Delmonaco; and grand-children, Zane, Zoe, Mikenna, Henry and Ian. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, William Bell and her mother Leola.
