Carol Lynn Chance

Carol Lynn Chance, age 63, of Akron, Ohio passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at Altercare of Hartville. She was born March 25, 1958 in Akron, Ohio to Dossie Muriel and Thelma Jean (Fisher) Chance.

Carol graduated from Springfield High School, Class of 1976. Shortly after graduation, she moved to Texas, living with one of her sisters and her family. Carol enjoyed working with children so when an opportunity to care for and teach young children at a local preschool became available she jumped at the opportunity. Carol continued in that career path in Texas for almost 6 years. She then returned to the Akron/Ellet, Ohio area with her Mom after her Dad passed away.

While living in Akron, Carol continued her career, teaching and caring for children at a preschool working alongside her sister, Betty until both of them went on to work at Hartville Kitchen. Carol was a Prep-Cook, working at Hartville until her failing health caused her to retire after 18 years of service.

Carol was an avid crafter, spending hours creating jewelry and treasures of all kinds for all to enjoy. She also enjoyed fishing any chance she could. Growing up, Carol was always excited to go on family vacations to many beautiful areas in the US. One of her favorite places was the mountains in Tennessee.

Carol was a loving daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She was the bright spot in everyone's day as her welcoming smile and warm laughter made everyone feel special. She took the time to get to know people and was known for putting others needs before her own. Spending time with family and friends was something she truly cherished. Growing up with siblings at the family home was filled with so many fond and funny memories.

In addition to her father, Dossie Chance, Carol was also preceded in death by her loving mother, Thelma Jean Chance Sine earlier this week; sister, Pat Johnson. She is survived by her siblings, Tom (Vickie) Chance, Betty (Mark Albright) Anderson and Terri (Michael) Stevens. Also left to cherish Carol's memory are many loving nieces, nephews and dear friends.

There will be a Memorial Service to celebrate Carol's life on Monday, April 25, 2022 at 11:00 am at Hillside Memorial Park Chapel, 1025 Canton Rd. Akron, Ohio. Following the service a Fellowship Luncheon will take place at Grace Baptist Church, 704 Fireside Blvd. Akron, Ohio 44306.
