Carol Ellifritz Boone

Carol Ellifritz Boone, age 80, of Akron, sadly passed away on May 29, 2009. She died at Altercare of Hartville after a short battle with cancer, with her daughters by her side. Carol was born in Benbush, WV on July 20, 1928 and moved to Ellet, OH at the age of 3. She graduated from Ellet High School in 1947 and was an active alumnus up until the time of her illness. Carol has a deep love for her family and looked forward to camping and attending her annual Ford family reunion. She attended the reunion for over 40 years and was very proud to be the oldest of 64 grandchildren. Carol married Daniel Boone in November 1950 and had four children, Scott, Debbie, Marty, and Judy. She enjoyed collecting antiques, playing the slot machines and traveling. Carol was preceded in death by her husband Daniel; sons Scott and Marty; sister Doris Wright; and parents Ray and Margaret Ellifritz. She is survived by her daughters Debbie and Judy, of Akron; sister-in-law Charlotte Boone, of Stow; daughter-in-law Amy Boone, of Coshocton; grandchildren Brittany Thur, of Green, and Alexandra, Shyann and Jared Boone, of Coshocton; and brothers and sisters Bill, Butch, Diane and Sherry, all of Delaware; as well as many nieces nephews, cousins, and other family and friends. The family would like to thank Dr. Mark Smith, Asera Care Hospice, and all of the staff at Altercare for their wonderful care of Carol and their kindness. Calling hours will be Tuesday, 4-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., where a funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. Interment at Greenwood Cemetery in Mogadore.
