Carol L. Benedum

Carol L. Benedum, 70, started her next step in her journey on Saturday, December 5, 2015. Carol was born on September 24,1945 in Akron, Ohio to Warren (Bootz) Hayes and Betty Hayes. She was a dedicated wife, sister, mother, aunt, grandmother and friend. Carol always put others before herself. She loved shopping, jewelry and vacationing with her family. She took great pride in the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren.


Carol is preceded in death by her mother and father. She is survived by husband of 50 years, James Benedum; son, Sherman (Jennifer) Benedum; daughter, Shannon (Michael) LaMarca; brother, Warren (Betty) Hayes; sister, Nancy (Larry) Copen; special friend, Karen Axline; grandchildren, James, Abigail, Mitchel, Marissa, Dylan, Angelo; nieces, nephews and a host of family and friends.


Family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Road, Akron, Ohio 44305. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at 12:00 pm with a visitation a half hour prior.
