Carol Holmes, 82, passed away on Friday, December 30, 2016. Carol was born on December 1, 1934 in Akron, Ohio to Harry and Mima Towsley . She was a member of Sawyerwood United Methodist Church. Carol had a contagious laugh. She was an avid Cleveland Browns fan, loved family gatherings, and listening to Elvis and the Beatles.
Carol is preceded in death by her parents, siblings ( Buster, Donald, Doris, Tim) and grandchild (Gary).
She is survived by her children, David ,Tom, Rusty, Terri (Joe) , John ( Angie); brother, David; 14 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and family who will miss Carol dearly.
Family will receive friends on Thursday, January 5, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and 10:30 on Friday, January 6, 2017 prior to service at 11:00 a.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, Akron Chapel, 131 N. Canton Rd, Akron, Ohio 44305.
Interment will take place at Hillside Memorial Park.
