Carol A. Montis
Carol A. Montis, 56, passed away on April 22, 2008. She was born in Fayetteville, TN on April 19, 1952 to James and Magdaleen Flynt. Carol was a 1971 graduate of East High School. She was the president of Addie Day Aux. #52 of John W. Wagner Garrison #102 Army Navy Union USA, the Dept. of Ohio Junior Vice President and National Lady Chaplain of Army Navy Union Ladie's Aux. Carol was involved with several charitable causes and was an avid bowler. She will be remembered as a sweet and caring person who loved and was loved by almost everyone she ever met. Preceded in death by her father James Flynt; brother Jerry Flynt; and her son John Allen Montis. Survivors include her husband John, of 36 years; mother Magdaleen Flynt; daughter Cynthia Montis; sons Steven [Marilou (nee Dean)] and James Montis; grandchildren Madison and Ronan; sister Kathy (Lynn) Evans; brother Michael (Sandy) Flynt; father-in-law Harlan (Lois) Montis; and a large extended family who loved her dearly. The family would like to extend special thanks to the Acute Palliative Care Unit at Akron City Hospital for their care and support. Calling hours will be Friday, 4-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where a funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park.
