Carol M. Scarpitti, 82, passed away on March 21, 2006. She was Catholic by faith and enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, word searches, and crocheting. Preceded in death by her daughter Mary; grandson Jeff; 1 sister; and 3 brothers. Survivors include sons Thomas (Barbara), of Tennessee, and Tony, of Akron; daughters Juanita Cope, of Canal Fulton, and Patricia Mong, of Tennessee; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; former daughter-in-law and special friend Lorna Scarpitti; and best friend of 43 years, Grace Bye. Calling hours will be Friday, 4-7 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. Funeral service immediately following at 7 p.m., Rev. Jim Abe and Mr. Chuck Crofford officiating.
